About: HAPPY, Hypertension Awareness & Prevention Program at Yale, is a collaboration of Yale University students, health professionals, and New Haven health care agencies dedicated to providing regular hypertension screenings, linking hypertensive individuals with affordable and immediate medical care, and eliminating barriers to follow-up care for under-served communities in New Haven, CT. The ultimate goal of HAPPY is to establish cost-effective, long term community based approaches that foster self-management behaviors for chronic hypertension among the homeless population.

About: CareFree Clinic is a group of Brown University undergraduates committed to expanding access to health care. We provide free health screenings in and around Providence, Rhode Island as well as referrals to Clinica Esperanza (www.aplacetobehealthy.org), a free clinic for the uninsured. CareFree was founded in 2011 as a partnership between Brown undergraduates, community leaders, and the greater Providence medical community. CareFree is not a political group; our only mission is to directly expand health care access through direct service.

About: StudentsCare is a national health care volunteering non-profit organizations that focuses on a one-on-one hospital buddy program at local hospitals around the country in the pediatric cancer unit, bone marrow registry donation drives, heart screenings, and other volunteer initiatives to give college students interested in health care and pre-medicine the opportunity to engage in their communities. StudentsCare at the University of Pennsylvania will be expanding on these functions by adding blood pressure screenings for disadvantaged community members.
